The New York Times estimates that the costs increase an average of 7.4% at a private four-year college. Wesleyan’s total costs for freshmen went from $54,097 to $56,641 this year, increasing just under 5%.

I think they start telling you fees this early, but you shouldn’t be that surprised – they send you an email notification about it. If you really can’t pay for it now, you also have the option of paying it monthly with Tuition Management Systems.
