From Anthony Smith ’11:
HUSK is a new play, written and directed by Anthony Smith ’11
The decidedly typical small town of Husking, Indiana enjoys a quiet, church-going, diner-filled existence. That is, until a hitchhiker, identity unknown and unimportant, is raped and murdered within the city limits. Attempting to solve the case are Barb, a widowed detective; Darling, the busybody head of the PTA; her husband Bob, a disgraced former deputy; and finally, the town Sheriff, who is doing everything but getting to the bottom of things. Their only suspect is an innocent man: the town pariah, a brilliant teacher from Westchester, who was forced into retirement by the PTA following his attempted suicide. And they all will stop at nothing to prove his guilt, even at the expense of their own innocence.
