Open Auditions for Two Senior Thesis Films

From Sasha Solodukhina ’11:

In “Grand Prize” (digital), a struggling musician becomes obsessed with winning a contest for a laundry detergent commercial jingle in order to redeem himself and his marriage. But winning wasn’t all he hoped it would be…

In “The Story of Spencer and Nancy” (16mm), 25-year-old Spencer remembers his first love through the perspective of himself as an 11-year-old. Everything is smooth as… honey until she disappears in a hot air balloon.

AUDITION FOR THE PARTS OF:  Frank: Male, 20-25. Disheveled but endearing songwriter. He just wants his wife to think he’s sexy. And jingles can be very sexy. Nice singing voice a big plus!

Jane: Female, 20-25. Frank’s wife. She is sick of putting up with his unemployment and aspires for a more sophisticated, edgy lifestyle. Has a hard time controlling her emotions.

Spencer: Male, 20-25. Average height and build. Spencer is a dreamer and an idealist. Aptness for physical comedy is a plus.

Nancy: Female, 20-25. Average height and build, blonde hair. Should have an expressive face, a good sense of humor, and an animated personality.

Franny: Female, 20-25. Must have very distinctive hair that is not blonde; More coy than Nancy.
