Wordsmith/Fly Machine/Bones Complex @ 200 Church

Bones Complex frontman and reasonably friendly individual Zachary B. Goldberg ’13 sends in word of an exciting happening at 200 Church this Saturday:

Ey yall,

I know there’s a lot going on Saturday night, but we got one more jam you need to check out. Wordsmith and The Concert G’s, Fly Machine, and Bones Complex are gettin’ down with some dirty, blast-out-ya-speakers funk at 200 Church. This show is gonna be like a Peanut Butter and Jesus sandwich. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the lineup:

Film Series: “George Washington”

2000. USA. Dir: David Gordon Green. With Candace Evanofski, Donald Holden. 89 min.

Drowsy and delicate, honest and tragic, director Green’s debut feature offers a strong contrast to last year’s PINEAPPLE EXPRESS. A group of close friends in North Carolina find their lives dramatically affected when one of their own dies in an abandoned amusement park, setting off a series of strange events.

DATE: Tonight, September 30
PLACE: CFS, Goldsmith Family Cinema

Weekend Quest Game

Speaking of Thursdays in the Butthole…Clay Dreslough ’93 (!) proves that there is indeed postgraduate education in LARPing:

Quest events are story-driven, live-action role-playing events with a fantasy flavor that run regularly in Connecticut, usually on the Wesleyan University campus in Middletown, CT or the 4-H campground in Pomfret, CT.

Quest has no membership fee, and you may attend as many or as few games as you like. You pay only for those events that you wish to attend — and your game fee includes food, equipment, plus a free Player Handbook at your first game!

Date: Oct. 1 – Oct. 3
Time: 8:00 PM – Noon
Place: Windham-Tolland 4H Camp (Pomfret, CT)
Cost: $60

That’s not the whole story–if you were surprised the cost section did not read $0, you may be interested in the following message from Sir Dreslough:

“This is the non-profit live-action gaming group created by Wes students in the 1980s. Still going strong. The weekend-long Fall events are the most fun, and new players get a $15 discount.
