The Mix Project

From Leah Koenig ’13:

Wesleyan’s mixed heritage group, MIX, is creating a project to raise awareness about the mixed heritage community on campus, and to provide an opportunity for mixed-heritage members of the community to self-identify without the limitations of check-boxes.

Inspired by Kip Fulbeck’s “The Hapa Project” (for more info, go here), The MIX Project invites any and all mixed heritage students, faculty, and staff at Wesleyan to participate.

*mixed heritage: def. – multiracial, multiethnic (ex: African American and Jamaican; Chinese and Japanese, etc.), and/or transracially adopted*

I have MAJOR problems with the third and fourth images on the bottom row. I can’t believe you’d actually post something like this!!!!!

The people in the above collection volunteered and signed contracts agreeing to the distribution and use of their photos for Kip Fulbeck’s project. They way they look is how they choose to present themselves; I don’t understand what the problem is.
