If you have a Wesleyan email account and/or a solid cache of culturally conscious friends, you’ve probably already heard about the Navaratri Festival, Wesleyan’s iteration of a seasonal Hindu celebration that began this Wednesday. Though our version isn’t quite nine nights and ten days, concerts, dance, and other events will be taking place this evening, all day Saturday, and Sunday, so it’s not too late to ditch the Halloween mainstream and check it out. Below is a video of Zakir Hussain, tabla master extraordinaire, performing; anyone who already snagged a ticket to his sold-out show tomorrow night is in for a treat.
