Ajua Campos, X-House and weSLAM present Qualifying Bout #2, the second qualifying poetry slam for the FINAL SLAM that will decide who gets to represent Wes at other slams across the nation. The night will begin with 15 poets and end with only 5 standing. But remember, here the point is not the points, the point is the poetry!
Also performing will be spoken word artist and award winning poet Gabriela Garcia Medina. Her poetry has taken her all over the world from the World Social Forum, Brazil (2004) to Havana Jazz Plaza (2001). Gabi is a vibrant and eloquent performer with a background in activism and community advocacy and the author of two books of poetry: “Ink-Scribing Oshun” and “In the Wake of Oya”.
