Seeking Musicians for “Devotedly, Sincerely Yours,” A Spring Senior Thesis Production

Samantha Joy Pearlman ’11 is seeking male musicians to perform in her Senior Acting Thesis presented by the Wesleyan Theater Department. Under the music direction of Ian Coss ’11, the band will help create this new theatrical work about the USO Camp Shows during WWII called “Devotedly, Sincerely Yours” (compiled by Pearlman) from USO archival material.  The band will play music from the ’40s and will be part of the theatrical event, dressed in military uniforms and interacting with the solo performer (Pearlman) during the performance.  Participants will receive course credit, as well as have the opportunity  to link musical and theatrical art forms.  Performances are on April 7th and 8th, as well as during senior week as a WESeminar.

Auditions will take place after thanksgiving break by appointment. Instruments needed include: drumkit, upright bass, trumpet, sax, and trombone

However, if you play other instruments, or dance, or want to be involved, please contact us anyway.  This is a new show, and arrangements are flexible as of now, so please submit and tell us what you do!

If interested, please email spearlman@wes, icoss@wes, or lhaje@wes to find out more information.
