On November 9, Wesleyan issued a campus security alert following reports of two incidents of sexual assault at the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at 184 High Street. Middletown Police investigated and, having obtained a warrant in one of the cases, have now arrested a non-student suspect. The investigation by the police into the other reported incident continues. Anyone with information bearing on these reported incidents is encouraged to contact the Middletown Police department’s Special Investigations Unit at 860-344-3230.

A New York man is facing serious charges for allegedly sexual assaulting a woman on the campus of Wesleyan University in October.
John O’Neill, 21, 2065 Baldwin Road, Yorktown, turned himself in on a warrant at Middletown Police headquarters Tuesday morning at 7 a.m.
The warrant charges O’Neill with first-degree sexual assault and first-degree unlawful restraint. Police are not naming the victim and the arrest warrant was ordered sealed.
What is known from the arrest report is that the incident allegedly occurred on Oct. 31 in Middletown.
