Join Working Group on Faculty Engagement Now!

From Joe O’Donnell ’13, WSA Student Affairs Committee Chair:

Do you have ideas about creating more opportunities for students and faculty to interact outside of the classroom?

Are you interested in working with some WSA members to compile recommendations to be presented to the Board of Trustees at the end of February?

This month, the WSA will be convening a Working Group on Faculty Engagement, seeking to incorporate a variety of student perspectives and ideas.  The committee will be brainstorming ways to improve and expand faculty and student engagement, and foster closer relationships both in and out of the classroom in the future.

This year, the Faculty Fellows Program launched in Nicholson, and the Lunch Voucher Program began, both of which increased student-faculty interactions in more informal settings, but much work remains to be done.

If you’re interested in serving on this Working Group, please e-mail  me at jodonnell(at)wesleyan(dot)edu.  Requirements include attending two one-hour meetings and conducting some outside research during February, exact dates and times to be determined.

If you’re not interested in being on the Working Group but still would like to share a suggestion for us to consider, please e-mail saying so.

  1. just sayin

If you want to engage with young faculty outside of 8am – 5pm, consider announcing that you will provide childcare on request. (Those are the hours of the campus daycare.)
