Relay for Life of Wesleyan Kick Off

Ann Wheeler ’12 wants you to participate in Wesleyan’s Relay for Life!

Did you know that 1 out of 3 people will be diagnosed with cancer this year? Did you know you have the ability to fight back and change that number? On Tuesday, February 8, Relay For Life of Wesleyan will be hosting their Kick Off event during the normal lunch hours of 11-2pm in the Usdan Marketplace. Visit the information tables to learn more! Wesleyan University will be hosting the Second Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life on Friday, April 8, outside Usdan. Relay For Life is a noncompetitive team walking event that joins together campuses and communities worldwide in the fight against cancer. Relay is more than just a fundraiser, it is a celebration of life and hope and most importantly, it is FUN! Last year Wesleyan brought in over $27,000 for the American Cancer Society to support cancer research, education, advocacy and free patient services for those battling cancer. This year we hope to double our efforts! We encourage you to create your own team or join ours as we come together to honor all those who have been touched by cancer. Simply visit www.relayforlife.org/wesleyanct and register today or email WesRelay(at)gmail.com with questions or for more information.

“Approximately 1/3 people will have some form of cancer in their lives” says the internet, I’m guessing it’s (incorrectly) taken from that.

Um… I’m sorry… “1 out of 3 people will be diagnosed with cancer this year?”

That’s just preposterous. Can we see a citation for that claim?
