So you wanna be a writer, huh? Well, listen up: times are hard. The publishing industry ain’t what it used to be. Back in the good ol’ days, they be accepting all kinds of strange stuff – Scandinavian love poems done in the prose of R. Kelly, novels with no words – you name it, they probably did that already. In hard cover.
These days, not so much. That novel about blind star-crossed lovers living in a Delaware trailer park you’ve been working on since high school? Dream on. That stack of poems you’ve got there about your dyslexic cats? Move along.
But hey, listen: we can help you. We know a place that’s publishing. Check it out:
The cohabitant Full and Writing Houses of 202 Washington St. are calling for your recipes!
THE GOAL: TO COMPILE 26 OF THE MOST DELICIOUS RECIPES-ONE FOR EVERY LETTER OF THE ALPHABET-INTO A LOVELY COOKBOOK (or, uh, cookbooklet).
Send your submissions to lbecker(at)wesleyan(d0t)edu with the name of the dish as the subject line (i.e. APPLE PIE, BANANA CREAM PIE, CHERRY PIE… though obviously not necessarily pie). Rolling submissions until Spring Break. The chosen recipes will be featured in said cookbook(let), which will be available to students upon completion. WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR NOMS.
No need to thank me.
