Do you have a story to tell?
Fans of spoken word, slam poetry and open-mic nights are invited to participate in Wesleyan’s newest literary event- WESTORIES. The winner and runner-up of our campus storytelling competition will go on to compete against representatives from seven other schools this April at the Connecticut Storytelling Association’s “Campus Slammer.”
What is a story slam?
-Out of everyone who signs up, 10 contestants will be chosen from a hat
-Contestants have 5 minutes to tell a true story without notes or props
-Stories should be related to the night’s theme: “Winners and Losers”
-Whoever best tells their story will go on to represent Wesleyan against other Connecticut schoolsThe stories can be humorous, poignant, thought provoking, revealing, or anything just begging to be told.
Come tell a story, be a judge, or just enjoy some coffee while cheering on your friends.
