Robot Girlfriend — Remastered Edition

Back in September, we posted about a pretty snazzy music video that a bunch of Wes grads put together for the song “Robot Girlfriend,” which is part of an “experimental hip-hop odyssey” byO-Zi (Rob Rusli ’10) and D1G1TA1 D00D (Saeid Vahidi ’09). The video incorporates YouTube clips, digital media, and stop animation, and you should probably watch it below if you haven’t already.

Anyway: today Rusli sends word of a new remastered edition of the song, with replaced audio in the video:

I recently teamed up with a recording studio in Brooklyn named Abstract Rhythm that wanted to master our track “Robot Girlfriend,” so after a few days in the lab with their head engineer Brendan we finished up a super high fidelity version, and replaced the audio in the old music video.

The whole project is full of Wes grads: Saeid Vahidi ’09 (D1G1), David Moench ’09 (Underfur), me ’10 (O-Zi), and the director of the music video Pete Binswanger ’10 (just Pete).

Here’s the music video:

The track, plus a bonus free remix, are available for free download here.
