Wesleyan’s own fighting Department of Archives writes in to tell us a bit about an interesting event:
There’s more to the Wesleyan University Archives than venerable memoranda from administrations gone by. In addition to more than 8,000 linear feet of archival records, University-related publications, photographs, and papers of faculty, staff, and alumni, the University Archives holds an amazing array of objects connected to Wesleyan history. A selection of these artifacts, from fire buckets to fraternity paddles to freshman beanies, will be on view in the Davison Rare Book Room on Friday, April 1, 2-4 p.m. Join us for a look at the lighter side of Wesleyan’s archives!
For more information, contact Suzy Taraba, University Archivist and Head of Special Collections, x3375 or staraba@wesleyan.edu. Note: this is a real event to celebrate April Fool’s Day. It is not a joke!
