Devotedly, Sincerely Yours: The Story of the USO

In this original solo show, Samantha Joy Pearlman ’11 recreates the experiences of female performers in the United Service Organizations (USO) Camp Shows, Inc. during World War II. With an eight piece all-male student band, under the direction of Ian Coss ’11, this compilation of archival texts and songs reveal those actors’ “imperishable memorial” and invite us to question modern concepts of war, gender and America. This performance is in partial fulfillment of Pearlman’s senior thesis in Theater.

Date: April 7 – April 8
Time: 8:00 PM
Place: Wesleyan University – CFA Theater
Cost: Free

Students can pick up tickets at the box office the day of each performance (limit of two per person), and off-campus guests may call that day to set aside tickets to be picked up that evening at the door.
