Submitted by the illustrious Alan Rodi ’12:

Auditions for Mao: The Musical are being held in the Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 14th from 6pm until 8pm. Please arrive with a song and be prepared to express yourself through movement.

A fictional love story set in the backdrop of the rise of Mao Zedong, Mao: The Musical follows Mei, a poor woman who lives alone, and two men who both court for her affections. All is disrupted, however, when Mao arrives.

Both a farce and a tragedy, this modern piece explores the cult following of Mao Zedong through music. A thesis production written and composed by Alan Rodi in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Arts with Departmental Honors in Music. The production is November 10th, 11th, and 12th.

Auditions will also be Friday September 16th from 6pm-8pm in the Chapel Basement, and on Saturday September 17th from 1pm-3pm in the Music Studios Practice Rooms!
