Kirtan Chanting

Does Becky Schisler ’14 know what’s really good, or what? Fa rilly, y’all:

Kirtan, or ecstatic chanting, is an ancient spiritual practice from India in which simple mantras are repeated over and over, faster and faster, allowing participants to quiet the mind and melt into the sound. It’s traditionally done with Sanskrit mantras, but we’re gonna throw in some Hebrew, some humming, some Hindi, and whatever else anyone brings and would like to share. Bring your bodies, your voices, your drums, your tambourines, your guitars, your didgeridoos, your big wooden spoons, your native American flutes.
