ContraDance Dinner/Party, also Swing&Blues After-Party TONIGHT!

There was just no way I could have made the header of this post more convoluted. I mean, it’s not Stanley Kubrick convoluted, but it’s the kind of convoluted that if read with a hangover would trigger a gag reflex, which would eventually lead to discharge, which would eventually lead to a banal conversation in Usdan.

Anyway, Anonymous ’25 writes in:

The first contra dance of the year is THIS FRIDAY, 9/23, from 8-11pm, in Beckham Hall!

There will be LIVE MUSIC by Rebecca McCallum, Emily Troll ’10, Mary Cay Brass, and Roger Kahle, and calling by Adina Gordon.

Every dance will be taught, so if you’re a total beginner, there’s nothing to worry about!

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!

You should all join us for a POTLUCK DINNER before the dance! That’s right, the Contra Dance Dinner Extravaganza is really happening! It’ll be at Well-Being House (250 Court Street, at the corner of Court and Pearl) at 6:00pm. Bring yourselves, your friends, and your own plates and utensils, and something tasty to share if you can! (We know that not everyone has access to a kitchen, so if you don’t have the means to cook, don’t worry about it.)

Come welcome everyone back for the year, meet other dancers and musicians, and eat a delicious feast before heading over to the dance at 8pm :)

There will also be a Swing & Blues dance immediately following the contra dance (11pm-1am), so stick around for even more dancing once the contra’s over!

See y’all on the dance floor.

Date:   Sept. 23 – Sept. 24
