Some serious sounds (“some Hebrew, some humming, some Hindi, whatever”) emanating from BuHo tomorrow night, thanks to Lily Martin ’14. This will be happening every other Wednesday, starting tomorrow:
Kirtan, or ecstatic chanting, is an ancient spiritual practice from India in which simple mantras are repeated over and over, faster and faster, allowing participants to quiet the mind and melt into the sound. It’s traditionally done with sanskrit mantras, but we’re gonna throw in some Hebrew, some humming, some Hindi, and whatever else anyone brings and would like to share.
Bring your bodies, your voices, your drums, your tambourines, your guitars, your didgeridoos, your kazoos, and your native American flutes!
We will meet in the meditation room in Buddhist house (directly across from the front door) every other Wednesday at 9:15.
Date: Tomorrow, October 5, and every other Wednesday
Time: 9:00 – 10:30 pm
