1964. UK. Dir: Richard Lester. With The Beatles. 87 min.
“Can’t buy me looooooove…” The Fab Four just need to get from Liverpool to London for a show, but oh, the shenaningans that ensue – from insatiable fans to Paul’s meddling grandpa to a wandering Ringo. Part Marx Brothers, part French New Wave, this proto-mockumentary is far weirder and more trenchant than it has a right to be. And, of course, it has lots and lots of great music.
Tonight. Goldsmith Family Cinema. 8pm. $5.
