Once again, valiant rugby captain J.R. Mannetta ’13 would like you to watch “Old Meth” continue their run of bone-crushing good form:
After Amherst backed out from our scheduled season-finale, we thought we were going to be forced to end our year with last weekend’s contest against Conn. College. Luckily, Quinnipiac University agreed to travel to Middletown this Saturday at 2 PM to learn first-hand the pain of the revived Old Methodist squad.
Now that we’ve dispatched of the Conn. Coll. Camels 50-14, we’ve improved our cumulative season point total to 220 – 68 while running out to a 4-0 league record.
We hope you had a good time last weekend, and we promise a similar display of hard hitting, fast running, and disciplined Old Methodist rugby. This is our first chance in years to end the season undefeated, so we need all of the fan support we can get.
This will be the actual final 15-side game for our seniors — Peter Frank, Trevor “BD” Rhodes, David Amhrein, Tom Oddo, Max Ginsberg, and Foote. So come out on Saturday to cheer us on as we battle for the last time on the hallowed grounds of Long Ln field.
Date: Saturday, May 5
Time: 2 pm
Place: Long Lane Field (way up behind the Physical Plant buildings)
