Let’s Get Ready is Looking for Coaches

A message from perpetually enthusiastic sweethearts Emily Schwed ’15  and Max Owen-Dunow ’15:

Let’s Get Ready is a nonprofit organization that provides free SAT tutoring and college counseling for underserved high school students in the Middletown area. It has chapters in over 20 schools across the Northeast, and the Wesleyan program is currently recruiting coaches!

We need volunteers to coach for either the verbal or the math SATs for two and a half hours one night a week. Each coach has a class of the same five kids every week, so it’s a great opportunity to get to know the students one-on-one and make a real impact on their college application experience. For a tiny time commitment, you get to build a great relationship and have a huge impact on some students who could really use your help.

Interested? Apply here. It only takes around 15 minutes. Still have questions? We will be holding an info session for potential applicants on Wednesday at 8 in Usdan 110, and if you can’t make it, or have any questions, feel free to email Emily and Max (wesleyanlgr[at]gmail[dot]com). Applications will be due at midnight on Sunday the 16th. Here’s the Facebook event.
