Audition for a Digital Thesis Film

Julia Baritz ’13 writes:

The film is an imaginative, yet slightly tragic story of growing up, taking place on one Halloween night.

We’re looking for two girls to play early highschoolers, so please come if you are annoyed by being frequently mistaken for being younger than you are. You don’t have to prepare any material as we will have something for you to read at the audition, though you may bring
aditional material to perform if you wish.

Auditions are Tuesday 7pm-9pm and Wednesday 5pm-7pm in the Usdan
Multipurpose Room (located down the hall from the package pickup room
in the basement.)

Date: October 2, October 3
Time: 7 – 9 p.m., 5 – 7 p.m.
Place: Usdan Multipurpose Room

Santa Maradona: An Italian Movie

Andrea Ballanti (Grad) invites you to a screening of Santa Maradona:

SANTA MARADONA tells the story of two young men living in Turin and trying to start their professional life after studying at university. Their way to live appears funny (the couple Accorsi / De Rienzo plays very well together), but also sad and void of points of refe- rence. They communicate very well with each other, thanks also to their common passion for football, but their relationship with the rest of the world is difficult, not clear and not definite. It is a clever and funny movie about the difficulty to live, to find oneself identity and to pur- sue one’s interests and objectives.

Date: Monday, October 1
Time:  8 – 9:40 pm
Place: FISK 210
Cost: Free

Teach for America Information Session

Stop what you’re doing and pay attention. This just in, from Jennifer Healey at the Career Resource Center:

Do you dream of making a difference in the world after you graduate? Do you want to wake up every day knowing that you’re part of a
movement working towards equity and social justice – a movement geared towards transforming lives, perspectives, and our country?

If so, then join Evan Hendon, a member of the Kansas City charter corps who taught 6th grade Social Studies and 10th grade African American History and Economics, for an information session on October 2nd at 7:00pm in 41 Wyllys, Room 112. This will be a great opportunity to learn about his impact in the classroom and find out how you can become a part of this movement to ensure that all children in this country have access to the quality education they deserve.

Hey all!

Come out tomorrow from 12-4 for the weekly WILD Wes workday in the WestCo courtyard! We just got the seeds to sprinkle for ground cover across the entire site — but we have to move a bunch of extra wood chips first, and we’re trying to get it all done before the colder and wetter the weather sets in. Stop on by, learn about some plants, touch (or don’t touch) some dirt, think about where you actually are — it’ll be sweet! Also, if all goes well this weekend, come on by next weekend to help seed the meadow and ground cover for everything!

Date: TODAY, September 29th.
