Do you have a celebrity crush on Sandra Fluke, the woman Rush Limbaugh called a “slut” because she supports access to contraception? Do you absolutely love Rosa DeLauro’s style? And do you want to make sure the Senate stays Democratic by having Chris Murphy elected to it?
Well, prepare to have your mind be blown: all three of these people will be in Middletown for a canvass starting on Saturday at 10 a.m., and you can meet them. What better than to help Democratic politicians get elected and meet some celebs?
If you’re interested in going, send an email to gdegolia[at]wes. More info from the Middletown Democrats’ Press Release after the jump.

Opening for Zongo will be Wesleyan’s most altruistic band, Men With Bad Manners, who unlike all other Howe Pearson projects, still exist at Wesleyan. If you don’t know who Howe Pearson is, educate yo self. Also check out MWBM

This Friday, November 2nd, is the first firstFriday talk of the year (say that two times fast). Join us for good conversation and delicious
refreshments as we listen to Lydia Brewster talk about her work with St. Vincent de Paul Middletown, a community soup kitchen.
It’s Bar Night at Usdan. It’s BAR NIGHT at USDAN. A headline out of my dreams:
A full range of mocktails and sodas will be served with labeled ingredients.
We will provide a range of different activities such as Wii, trivia competition, water pong, darts, karaoke, pool, foosball, and other
games. Following the bar night theme, we will be serving fries, onion rings and chicken fingers.
While participating in this fun filled event, students can enjoy delicious drinks and great entertainment with friends, without
worrying about having a terrible hangover the next day. This will also be a scent and strobe-light free event.
Date: Friday, November 2 Time: 9:30pm-11:59pm Place: The Usdan Center Cost: Noneskies
2012. USA. Dir: Steven Soderbergh. With Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughy. 110 min.
Oh yes, if you like handsome guys gyrating to loud music, there is plenty to enjoy here. But somehow Soderbergh also elevates this fun, sexy romp into a humanistic drama about the frustrations and repressed dreams of the modern American man. If that modern American man is shirtless a lot. Tonight. 8pm. Goldsmith Family Cinema. $5.
Come see Wesleyan Improv groups Gag Reflexand Desperate Measures perform long and short form, respectively, with Middletown Improv group Tick Tick… BOOM! The Sticks Improv. This show will be a lot like the Comedy Combo show at the beginning of the year, so if you liked that, you are sure to love this! What’s more, it’s located somewhere other than Wesleyan’s campus. Get out and explore! For you adventurous folk returning from an extravagant dinner at Typhoon, stop by and get some laughs. We promise you’ll be done by bedtime.
Date: November 2, 2012 Time: 7:30 pm Place: 190 Cross Street Cost: $10
