The film begins with Alberto Colombo (Claudio Bisio), a civil servant of the Italian Postal Service. Alberto has been passed up for promotion to a coveted position in Milan, and following a comical yet ill-fated attempt to secure another such opening, is assigned to two years postal purgatory in Italy’s southern region. Alberto’s wife Silvia chooses to remain in the civilized north while Alberto is subjected to his penance.
“When a stranger comes to the South he cries twice, when he arrives and when he leaves.”

Important message from Zach Dravis ’15 below about helping to get people out to vote on Election Day:
If you’ve been waiting to get involved with one of the most important presidential campaigns of our lifetimes, now is the time! With less than two days until the election, it’s crucial that we call voters in swing states to make this close election a definite win for Obama.
Come to 69 Home Avenue from 5 to 7 PM to make calls to swing states and encourage registered voters to get to the polls on Tuesday. We’ll have a 10 minute training session at the beginning, so come at 5 and stay for however long you can.
No previous experience necessary. Bring your laptop, charger and a pair of headphones. Also, pizza will be provided!
What: phone bank to swing states Date: Tomorrow Time: 5 – 7 pm Place: 69 Home Ave
The Sexual Violence Action Committee wants you to speak up (and eat up):
Join us for an open mic (and some free Thai food!) to wrap up the Red Flag Campaign. The first hour will be dedicated to writing and creating and then we will invite people on stage to share their work/experiences. The central focus of the night is relationships and sexual violence. If you already have an act that you’re interested in performing, shoot an email to the SART intern Rachel Verner ’15, at rverner(at)wesleyan(dot)edu and she’ll set you up.

The first one will be held Sunday, November 4th at 1pm in Usdan 110 and the second will be held Monday, November 5th at 4:15 pm in Usdan 110.
