Six-year old Hushpuppy weathers an apocalyptic flood and her ailing father’s temper in an impoverished, isolated Louisiana bayou community – but nature is no match for her terrifying intensity. Wesleyan’s own Zeitlin ’04 (in command of a small army of other Wes alumni) builds impressionistic yet sublimely tactile imagery to gripping emotional peaks.
Monday, November 12th 8pm. Goldsmith Family Cinema. Free:
Director Benh Zeitlin ’04 will talk with students about Court 13 and the making of Beasts of the Southern Wild.
