Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week


Wesleyan’s Annual Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is going on right now, Nov 8th-18th! We still have plenty of events coming up, everything from painting and cider to talks to fundraising dinners.

FAST-A-THON
Tuesday, November 13th, 6pm
Beckham Hall

Sponsored by Interfaith, this annual event allows students to donate meals and points to the Amazing Grace food pantry to restock it’s supply. Points can be donated during the week at www.wesleyan.edu/ocs/fastathon.html. Then, on Tuesday, Fast-a-thon will be holding a banquet with great speakers, free t-shirts and free Haveli! Meals can also be donated at the event.

Middlesex Homelessness Talk
Wednesday, November 14th, 6pm
41 Wyllys, Room 114

An End In Ten, a local organization dedicated to eradicating homelessness in Middlesex in ten years, will be coming to campus to talk about their work in the community and how Wesleyan students should engage in these efforts effectively. A member of the LEAD group will also be present speak about their experience with homelessness.

AWARENESS WEEK FESTIVAL
Sunday, November 18th, 12pm
Exley Lobby

The Hunger and Homelessness Program, together with other student groups, will be hosting an afternoon of activities, ranging from painting banners to playing music. Feel free to stop by for apple cider or to de-stress for a little bit. Also, feel free to bring your student group and have your own activity at the festival! We want to hear about what you do, too.
