Wesleyan Thinks Big (and Stuff): A Liveblog

For you cool kids on campus who haven’t heard, Wesleyan Thinks Big, a Ted talk meets a magical bundle of hope and wonder, is happening tonight. If you can’t be at the actual event, fear not. There is a screening in PAC 001 at the same time (8pm) and you can even get the event livestream from the comfort of your own dorm room or first floor Usdan couch.

We, the trusty crazed internet fanatics bloggers of Wesleying, will also be liveblogging away in the chapel.

Read after the jump to hear our commentary on these professors’ commentary.

Volunteer Info Meeting for Bone Marrow Drive

Kirby Sokolow ’14 sends in this plea:

Wesleyan AMSA will be holding a registration drive for the Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry next Friday, December 7th and is in need of volunteers! We will be holding an informational meeting on volunteering: Tuesday, December 4th at 7:15 pm in 41 Wyllys, Room 112.

Every year 10,000 patients need a marrow transplant using blood stem cells from a caring stranger. Thousands of patients with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, sickle cell and other life-threatening diseases depend on the Be The Match Registry® to find a match to save their life.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer but cannot attend the meeting, feel free to contact Kirby Sokolow ’14 atasokolow(at)wesleyan(dot)edu.

Date: Tuesday, December 4
Time: 7:15 pm – 8:00 pm
Place: 41 Wyllys, Room 112

Wes Thinks Big Screening

From the awesome Hannah Vogel ’13 who knows that some peeps didn’t get tickets to this event on time (and were very sad about it):

We’re all very excited for Wesleyan Thinks Big!

If you didn’t get a ticket, we’ll be screening the live stream in PAC001 at 8PM Tuesday! Seating is first come first serve. Pray to the internet buffer gods, please. Come get cheese in Zelnick after!

If you did get a ticket, we’re extending pick-up by one day. PLEASE come pick up your ticket at Usdan, 12-1PM! You can pick it up at the door if you must, but it will be slow and chaotic. Wouldn’t you like your WTB experience to be as relaxing as possible? If you haven’t picked it up by 7:50 on Tuesday, we’re giving away your seat to whoever shows up to be on the waitlist.

Date: TONIGHT, December 4
Time: 8pm
Place: PAC001
Cost: Free hundred dollars (I see what you did there, Vogel.)
