Wesleyan Spirits’ Fall Jam

Marc Whittington ’13 invites time travelers and dead sheep alike to this Chapel performance:

The Wesleyan Spirits, Wesleyan’s oldest all-male a cappella group, are at it again! No lie!

Featuring the souls of 26 dead sheep and goats, the Wesleyan’s oldest all-male acappella group will be singing the traditional Wesleyan Black Book songs as well as some dirty pop music for all of your listening pleasure.

The Spirits please ask all audience members to bring a change of clothes and some flashing strobe lights to keep us alive during our
concert. Admission charge will be very expensive and our sheep souls would appreciate donations of raw grains under 15 ounces. Don’t be a fool and listen to what anyone else tells you! Missing this event will not result in sheep hauntings! But your attendance was all we ever want, or else we feel such pain. Alums: Don’t hate us, we want you back.

Unfortunately for all of us, there will not be a live webcast of Fall Jam this year due to some papers being pushed off of necessary desks. If you’d like, you can check the concert out on our youtube page later. If you are a time traveler, you might even be able to watch our concert on youtube right now! Check to see for yourself.

EON Coordinator Search, Application, Elections

EON, the environmental organizers’ network, is looking for three enthusiastic, well-organized coordinators for next semester. The coordinators will plan the big network-wide meetings that will take place about three times per semester, facilitate discussion at those gatherings, and essentially keep the fire burning for EON. No background in environmental activism is necessary, and we encourage anyone who feels strongly about helping organize environmental events and initiatives to apply!

We know that this is a busy time for people, but if you could briefly answer the three questions on the survey by Sunday night, you’ll have a little time at the election meeting (Monday, December 10th at 4 PM) to elaborate. This application just gets you on the ballot. Also, your application questions will be accessible by all EON members to give them a sense of who’s running before the election.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Marj Dodson ’13 (mdodson@wes), Oliver James ’14 (ojames@wes) or Haley Greenberg ’14 (hgreenberg@wes).

Know a friend, classmate, roommate, friendcrush, or lover who you think would make a good coordinator? Let us know and we’ll work on getting them involved!

Here’s the application. (Note: you need a account to open it.)

Internet Club First Meeting

Ally Bernstein ’13 is totally seapunk, and she’s starting a new club:

What do U use the Internet 4? Doing email? AOL? Playing computer games? Searching for information? If that sweet dial-up sound is music to your ears, come discuss the World Wide Web with a group of like-minded “Netheads,” at the first meeting of Internet Club this Friday. Tons of Wesleyan students have “homepages,” use chat rooms and search for interesting tidbits. It’d be a pain to bring your personal computer to the meeting, but it’s easy to bring your enthusiasm for all things Internet! See ya Friday!

To quote the Argus, “People are finding that once they start playing around, it’s really easy to get the hang of it. You just click in and out of pages.”
