Charlotte Heyrman ’13 wants you to go loco local:
Like your veggies local?
You might have heard rumblings about a student-operated local food co-operative last semester. The Wesleyan Local Coop brings fresh, seasonal produce from local farms to students’ kitchens (much like a
CSA [community-shared argiculture -ed]). And we’re expanding!
The co-op will now be offering several different options that can be purchased with points:
-Veggie share (with some seasonal fruit) : $126
-Egg share : $62
-Meat share : $56
-Non-meat protein substitute share (tofu and seitan from The Bridge)
: $46
-Dairy share : $70
-Bread share: $74
All co-op members will be required to spend a minimum of five hours each semester volunteering. Responsibilities will include sorting deliveries, distributing shares, and clean-up. Additionally, there will be potlucks, recipe swaps, farm visits, and so much more throughout the semester!
Fill out this form by Sunday to sign-up. Email wesleyanlocalcoop(at)gmail(dot)com with any questions.
We’ll have a meeting soon to talk logistics.
Date: Sunday, January 27th (deadline)
Place: Connecticut!
Cost: See above
…is this replacing fruit and veg or will that also still exist?
