From Avery Trufelman ’13:
VOTE OR DIE:
Help WESU win “Best College Radio Station” and Robbie DeRosa, host of our local music show “Homegrown” (and manager of Red and Black Cafe), win “Best Radio Personality,” and Wesleyan win “Best Local 4-year University” in the 2013 Hartford Advocate Reader Poll. (That’s all under “Media and Education”).
You have to vote in at least 10 categories to be counted, so you can cast additional ballots in the “Media and Education” category by choosing WESU under “Best Radio Station” and Robbie DeRosa’s “Homegrown” under “Best Radio Show”. Online ballots must be submitted by 11:59pm EST on February 13th.
While you are at it, you can also vote for The Green Street Arts Center in the “Arts Center” category. Then, there’s Wesleyan’s CFA in the “College/University Performing” and “College Performing Arts Center” categories. Oddfellows Playhouse is listed in the “Community Theater Co.” category and you can write in The Buttonwood Tree in the “Concert Venue”. Don’t forget Red Scroll Records in the “Indie CD/Vinyl Store” category under “Books, Cds, DVDs”. Other allies of WESU include Gallery 53 in Meriden, Nora Cupcakes, and Brew Bakers.
It would be pretty cool if hometown hero Robbie were the best Radio Personality in Connecticut, and beat out all the other WNPR and WSHU bigwigs.
