Every year, a bunch of schwasty Wesleyan students perform the raunchiest and most raucous show you have ever seen, complete with up-to-the-date Wesleyan jokes and parodies of pop music from this year and the last.
Tonight, the performance is in the Westco Café. You will be provided marshmallows to throw at the actors, five of whom will be playing Michael Roth at some point throughout.
The performance will only last 30-45 minutes, so get to the “theater” early!
Date: Tonight, May 10 Time: 10:00 p.m. Place: WestCo Cafe Facebook: Here
The screenings of the 2013 Thesis films are this weekend. All showings are in the Goldsmith Family Cinema. 16mm is Friday 8pm, Sunday 2pm. Digitals are Saturday and Sunday at 8pm. Tickets are $5. They are sold on a first come, first serve basis, limited to one per person, and go on sale 45 minutes before showtime.
Important note: The film screenings did not sell out last year either of the opening nights. Although many folks show up especially early to get good seats, please do not let that discourage you from arriving much closer to the showtime. We want as many people as humanely possible to enjoy our films.
On each night of the film screenings we will announce on the Facebook event page when/if the tickets have sold out. If you do not see a post on there, assume that seats are still available and come down.
You’ve probably been waiting all year for this invite.
Come support Drawing II on Friday from 3-5pm. There will be free food
Date: Today, May 10th Time: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Place: CFA Drawing Studio (Art Workshop 105) Cost: Free
Last year 300-400 weskids came out one fateful night to dance in a silent rave. It was massive. So we’re going to do it again, for no other reason but to celebrate the end of the year and enjoy a huge dance party.
The concept of a silent rave is fairly simple. One only needs a pair of headphones and an mp3 player of sorts. Tonight we will publicly post a playlist based on students’ suggestions (through dropbox or other platforms) that anyone can download for free. Then on Friday May 10th, we will congregate on the grassy steps behind Olin and press play together at 11:15pm sharp (come at 11 if you want to get your hands on some glowsticks, we have 900 for the taking). The playlist will be one file so if you get out of synch or arrive late, 11:15 is the official start time and you can play the file at whatever minute we are on. It sounds a little funky, but it enables us to have a giant dance party outside that won’t attract noise complaints–and we can move around campus. So break out your tutus, capes, onesies, beads, and crazy outfits ((((KEEP WES WEIRD))))
Wesleyan’s Toneburst Laptop and Electronic Arts Ensemble will play their final show in the World Music Hall on Friday night at 8 pm AND 10 pm. It’s going to be a great show and there’s TWO of them, so make sure to come by Friday night!
Bring a laptop to participate.
Date: Today, May 10 Time: 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Place: World Music Hall Cost: Free
