From Eric Lopez ’15:
RPMU Presents Sylvan Esso & kaleidoscope
Sylvan Esso looks to put on the first big show for WestCo Cafe this coming Friday with their dancing beats and riveting vocals. Sylvan Esso is a collaboration between vocalist Amelia Meath and electronic musician Nick Sanborn. Meath’s powerful voice is front and center, unjoined by fellow harmonizers as it is in her folk group, Mountain Man. Sanborn, who plays bass in the genre-destroying Megafaun, creates intricate, pulsing grooves for Meath’s voice to inhabit. check out their soundcloud.
kaleidoscope is Keenan Burgess ’16 and one of the best beat makers on campus. His newest song “Aurora” is filled with floating vocals and an ethereal sensation all over it. Burgess played an opening set last semester for Sweater Beats and the Clam Casino-esque sounds played beautifully there. You can check out the rest of his sounds on his Soundcloud page, which includes a great rework of Cassie’s “All My Love”, and grab some older tracks off his Bandcamp page.
