Straight from Alma Sanchez-Eppler ’14 herself:
Come audition to be part of an exciting new theatrical work by Alma Sanchez-Eppler.
Saturday 10/26 and Sunday 10/27 drop in from 7-9pm. In the Jones Room (Theater dept. far end of the CFA)
“They Extract” is set in a magic realist future where emotions (mostly love) are mined as an energy resource. This play is a whimsical and devastating mediation about commodity.
All are encouraged to audition. We are especially looking for folks who are interested in physical theater, clowning, contact improvisation, experimentation with non-verbal story telling, committing to the absurd, sound and video editing/making, dynamic collaborators!
The audition will include working with text from the script as well as some clowning and dancing/movement. No preparation is necessary. If you want to be involved but not onstage (helping with production stuff: sound video lights, etc…) please e-mail me. asanchezeppl[at]wesleyan[dot]edu
Call-backs will be some time next week. The Production will go up very early in the spring semester (1st or 2nd weekend). The ensemble will meet a few times this semester and return early from winter break for a two-week rehearsal intensive (cause winter break is too damn long!).
Date: Saturday, October 26th
Time: 7PM – 9PM
Place: Jones Room (Theater Dept. far end of the CFA)
