Ring ring! Got old phones? Students for Consent and Communication wants them!
SFCC is running a phone drive to benefit the New Horizons Domestic Violence Shelter. Before and after Thanksgiving break, we will be collecting old (and new!) phones and chargers to donate to the shelter. The phones only need to be able to turn on and need to come with a charger. They will be distributed throughout the community so that people can call 911 in case of an emergency. (These calls are free and will not be charged to the previous owner.)
So go home and get your middle school-era flip phone (and charger) still sitting in that random desk drawer, ask your relatives to bring their old phones to Thanksgiving dinner along with the pie/bubbly, or go wild on Black Friday and buy a new phone and bring your old one back! You can drop your phones off in the box in the Olin lobby or during lunch or dinner in Usdan from Friday 11/22 until Wednesday 12/3!
