Toneburst Sampler Concert

Wesleyan’s Toneburst Laptop and Electronic Arts Ensemble, directed by Assistant Professor of Music Paula Matthusen, performs works for live-electronics and previews upcoming pieces to be performed as part of the conference of the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (taking place Thursday, March 27 through Saturday, March 29, 2014—www.wesleyan.edu/music/seamus).

Roth to Attend Open WSA Meeting Tonight

President Roth will join the Wesleyan Student Assembly tonight at 7:30pm for the WSA’s weekly General Assembly meeting. All students are welcome to join for part or all of the meeting, and to bring issues to President Roth’s attention, ask questions, or give feedback on University policy and initiatives. University of Connecticut Medical Student Panel

Interested in attending medical school? This Monday, Wesleyan’s American Medical Student Association will be hosting a panel with three second-year medical students from the University of Connecticut. The panelists will be here to speak about their experiences in medical school and address any questions you have about the medical school application process. Pizza will be served in limited quantities so get there early!

Wesleyan Creative Music Ensemble Concert

Cornet player and Wesleyan Private Lessons Teacher Taylor Ho Bynum ’98 leads the Wesleyan Creative Music Ensemble in a concert of post-1960s repertory and original music exploring various strategies for the integration of composition and improvisation.

Carolyn Hasted and Anhared Stowe — “The Mystery of Tones”

A special musical treat from two Middletown musicians:

Wesleyan private lessons teacher and pianist Carolyn Halsted and Hartford Symphony Orchestra Principal Second Violinist Anhared Stowe will play sonatas for violin and piano by César Franck and Edward Elgar, plus “Fratres” by Arvo Pärt.
