Official ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Series Finale Party

Nine seasons in the making, and we have snacks! This is an event of my personal making:

Join students, faculty, staff, and me in watching the series finale of How I Met Your Mother on the massive flat screen TV in the Career Center! Co-created by Carter Bays ’97 and Craig Thomas ’97, the show has won several awards in its nine seasons!

Come in at 7:30 PM to indulge in generous refreshments, the show starts at 8, and be on your merry way! No reservations required! Just show up (and suit up, if you’re so inclined)!

Post-Wes Journey: Jacob Eichengreen ’13 Talks VFA, Investing in Community

Bring your brunch on Sunday, March 30 and hear about Jacob’s experiences as a Venture for America Fellow in Las Vegas. This is an opportunity to not only learn more about VFA but also to discuss community-catalyzing investment and his adjustment to work with startups and life in a new city.

Jacob Eichengreen ’13 is a VFA fellow working with VegasTechFund, a part of Downtown Project that seeks to build a vibrant tech community and diversify the local economy in downtown Las Vegas by investing in early-stage startups. Jacob recruits promising companies who will support the startup ecosystem and facilitates their relocation and expansion.

Screening of AFTER TILLER plus Q&A with Filmmakers

The free screening of AFTER TILLER on Monday, March 31st at 8pm in Goldsmith Theater.

After the assassination of Dr. George Tiller in 2009, there are a limited number of doctors left in the U.S. who provide third-trimester
abortions. Directed by Wesleyan alumni Martha Shane ’05 and Lana Wilson ’05,After Tiller depicts the stories of these four doctors who are fighting to keep this service available and the incredible risk and struggle they confront on a daily basis. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Martha and Lana.

A Russian poet, displaced in the misty Italian countryside and haunted by ghostly dreams of home, bonds with a madman who claims to know how to find fulfillment. Tarkovsky’s first film made in exile tells a story of poetic visual details, meticulous compositions, and affecting prose in the place of plot points.
