Where to Donate Your Stuff

WasteNot! Locations

If you’re moving out in the next few days and have a bunch of stuff you don’t need or want anymore, donate them to Waste Not! or to Goodwill so they’re not wasted. There’s a group of Waste Not! student volunteers sticking around this week just to collect your cool armchairs, lamps, printers, TVs, didgeridoo, etc.

The official Waste Not! collection will be on Monday, May 26 (from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.), but until then you can put your clothing and linens into Goodwill bins around campus. The locations of these bins are marked in green in the map above.

The locations of Monday’s Waste Not! sites are as follows (they’re different from what’s marked above), courtesy of Sustainability Intern Ari Lewenstein ’16 :

People who live on Pine, Fountain or Warren should bring their items to the Fountain Backyards.

People who live on Vine, Cross, Knowles or in Senior Fauver should bring their items to the Senior Fauver Patio

People who live on Home, Brainerd or Lawn should bring their items to the garage behind Womanist House (44 Brainerd)

People who live on Church, Court, or College should bring their items to the Low Rise parking lot.

None of these locations are particularly set in stone, so people should feel free to bring their items to any of the locations based on whatever is convenient for them. We’ll be collecting from 9 to 6 on Monday. Clothing and linens should go to Goodwill bins, but we’ll accept anything else. We’ll also be accepting food items (opened or unopened), cleaning supplies and personal care items that will be donated to a local homeless shelter.
As always, keep an eye out for volunteers in orange shirts and ask for them help or call 607-220-7264 or 610-291-7712.
Here are things you can donate:
  • Clothing, shoes, and hangers
  • Bedding (sheets, towels, pillowcases, egg crates)
