Summer Volunteers Wanted for Kindergarten Kickstart

Are you on campus this summer? If so, Stephanie Blumenstock ’16 wants your help for Kindergarten Kickstart:

“Kindergarten Kickstart is an innovative 5-week summer pre-K program aimed at helping kids achieve school readiness for kickstartkindergarten. Part of our program involves bringing in guest teachers to provide a one-time short lesson and/or lead the kids in a fun activity. Examples of activities include dancing, drumming, and yoga. If you have a talent, interest, or skill that you’d like to share, we’d love to have you come to our classes! You don’thave to be an expert at the skill; all that matters is your enthusiasm and that the activity is appropriate for 4 and 5 year-olds.

Kindergarten Kickstart will be running from June 30-August 1 at two sites (Macdonough Elementary and Farm Hill Elementary), both of which are a short distance from campus.  The best time for guest teachers to come in would be for about 45 minutes in the afternoon between 1:30 and 3, though we can work around those times if need be.  In exchange for your time, you will receive the enthusiasm of 15 adorable children, the gratitude of teachers, and free snacks.
