Girls and ghouls of every age, wouldn’t you like to be in something strange? NIGHTMARE is a staged adaptation of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, adapted and directed by Russell Goldman (some sophomore) and sponsored by Second Stage. Performance dates are November 20-22.
NIGHTMARE follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloweentown, as he discovers a magical new holiday–Christmas. This is the story of the disaster that happened when these two holidays met.
If you want to audition, prepare a song to sing for us, preferably something close to the tone of the film’s music. We’d like that a lot.
Then you have options: you could come to auditions and pick up sides to read, OR, you could choose or create your own a character who lives in Halloweentown to present for a minute or two. You can create whatever kind of performance you want–performing King Lear as a shrill, old witch may be a ton of fun, for example–but try to be physically active in your presentation.
Questions about NIGHTMARE auditions or anything at all (existential or otherwise) can be sent to rgoldman[at]wesleyan[dot]edu. He will answer you within 3-7 business days. DATE?: Thursday September 4th TIME?: 5:00-8:00PM PLACE?: Usdan Multipurpose Room (basement of Usdan)
