Audition for Othello!

silly-shakespeareCoz Deicke ’15 is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on:

Othello will be a redesigned, reimagined, and modernized version of the Shakespearean original, adapted and directed by Coz Deicke and going up in the secluded, back-of-house darkness of the ’92 Theater November 6th-8th.

Othello is a female director at a major theater company, who gives the lead role in the upcoming production to Cassio, snubbing her dear friend Iago. Thus, Iago vows to get his revenge on Othello and wreck tragedy upon all who inhabit the theater. The play plays with gender, different eras of language, evil, and of course, comedy!

Auditions will be in the Jones Room of the Theater Studios SUNDAY 9/7 and MONDAY 9/8 from 4:30 to 7:00 PM.

Quirky and/or Shakespearean monologues are encouraged if you got ‘em, but cold reads will be provided! Remember: No experience is required & non-actors are totally encouraged to audition and make their influence on one of Shakespeare’s greatest works!

Got a Question or a Concern? Contact the director Coz Deicke (cdeicke[at]wesleyan[dot]edu).
