Film Series: Evil Dead 2

1987. USA. Dir: Sam Raimi. With Bruce Campbell, Sarah Berry. 84 min.

Poor Ash and Annie were just trying to get away for a weekend in the woods, until a few tiny passages read from the Necronomicon unleashed hell on earth. Less “sequel” than “hyperactive rework- ing,” Raimi’s utterly unhinged slapstick-horror extravaganza comes complete with haunted home furnishings, a flying demon grandma, a rainbow of blood – and don’t forget the chainsaw. Groovy.
