Interested in taking a course that allows you to make a concrete difference in the Middletown community, i addition to learning about community research methods? Consider applying for the Community Research Seminar, a 1.5 credit course for juniors and seniors of all majors offered this spring with Professor Rob Rosenthal.
The Community Research Seminar is an engaging and challenging foray into community research, and allows students to plan and carry out research for organizations throughout Middlesex County. Previous projects include exploring what factors help or hinder welfare recipients’ transition from public assistance to self-sufficiency for the Middlesex County Community Action Group, an assessing what barriers exist between Middletown Police officers and North End residents and possible ideas to address those issues (see here for more examples of past research).
