Baskin at Wesleyan this Tuesday, November 11th at 8 pm. Dr. Baskin
will be sharing his analysis of the Kerry Initiative’s failure, this
past summer’s violence in the region, and his vision for peace going
forward. Q&A and dessert reception to follow.Gershon Baskin is an Israeli-American peace activist who has dedicated
his career to the pursuit of a dignified two-state solution between
Israel and Palestine that will bring justice and stability to the
region. Dr. Baskin was one of the back-channel negotiators between
Israel and Hamas who secured Gilad Shalit’s release from captivity in
2011 after he was abducted in the Gaza Strip five years earlier.
Previously, Dr. Baskin served as an advisor on the peace process to
Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin’s government.This lecture is sponsored by the Allbritton Center for the Study of
