GIS Day at Wesleyan!

Ludacris MapFrom Rebecca “Housemate Geography” Sokol ’15:
Are you aware of geography? Well, this week you will be, as Wesleyan celebrates National Geography Awareness Week and National Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Day. On Wednesday, 11/19 students in Professor Kim Diver’s GIS classes will be hosting a number of events and activities celebrating the uses of GIS.
One of these activities is the creation of an interactive campus map called Wes Memories. Submit anonymous memories or stories through this Google Form, and we will add it to a campus-wide “Memories Map” that will be displayed in Usdan on November 19th. Think of a spatial, slightly-more-appropriate ACB.
Keep an eye out for other geography-related activities in Usdan from 11:00 to 1:00 on Wednesday, 11/19!
In addition to student activities, the Connecticut GIS User Network will be hosting speakers, discussions, and demonstrations from 9 -3  in Beckham Hall. See a full list of speakers and events here
Date: Wednesday, 11/19
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Locations: Usdan and Beckham Hall
