Ghada Amer’s work seeks inspiration from pornographic images of women, popular culture, and from medieval Arabic texts on eroticism. At Wesleyan, she will discuss how her paintings explore female desire and its representation(s) using female figures sewn onto canvas and partially hidden behind threads and paint.
