Clinic Escorts Info Sessions

Straight from Camille Casareno ’15:

Interested in reproductive justice issues? Do you believe bodily
autonomy is a human right? Wesleyan Clinic Escorts is having
info/training sessions for interested folks. We travel regularly to
one of the most protested clinics in Connecticut to provide a
confident and calming presence to the visitors and staff members of
the clinic. Here are the dates and locations of the info sessions:

Feb 9th, Monday, 4.15-5pm in Usdan 108

Feb 12th, Thursday, 12-12.45pm in 41 Wyllys, Room 114

Feb 16th, Sunday, 4-4.45pm in 41 Wyllys, Room 110

Newcomers only need to attend one session. Commitment is small (once
or twice a semester) but we make a big difference to the patients and
staff of a Bridgeport clinic. We welcome everyone!

Rho Ep & DKE present Cupid’s Crush Cans

PSA from Alessandra Cervera ’16:

I’ve got a crush on you.

If you have a crush on me too, you’ll buy me a Crush can.

Rho Epsilon Pi and Delta Kappa Epsilon are teaming up this week to bring you Crush can Valentines grams. There’s no better way to tell that special someone in your life that you think they’ve got a great personality (plus orange soda!!).

Cans cost $1 each and come with a label so you can ~*personalize*~ it to your liking (maybe a lil love note?). All proceeds will then go to the North End Action Team, right here in Middletown. If you want to find out more about their community projects, click here.

Here’s how the grams will work:

Muslim Women – Drawing From the Past to Move Forward in the Future

From Andrew Chatfield:

Dr. Feryal Salem will talk about the need for the female voice in Islamic scholarship and give an outline of some contemporary Muslim women’s contributions to classical Islamic scholarship. Dr. Salem is an Assistant Professor of Islamic Scriptures and Law; Co-Director of the Islamic Chaplaincy Program; and Director of the Imam and Muslim Community Leadership Program at the Hartford Seminary. This event is part of “Muslim Women’s Voices at Wesleyan.” Co-sponsored by Wesleyan’s Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life.
