From Rizky Rahadianto ’15:
On Wednesday, 3 young Muslims, Deah Shaddy Barakat, his wife, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, were brutally murdered by a middle-aged white man.
Not only has mainstream media failed to cover the story, they have refrained from using the words “terrorism”, “hate crime”, “racism” or any other phrase that would describe this heinous incident for what it truly is.
Please join the Muslim/Arab/Middle-Eastern community as we grieve for this tragic loss. We will be holding a vigil on Sunday (2/15) in the Exley lobby at 8PM. If you would like to share your words, through a poem, short speech etc., you will be more than welcome to. Please email hfahmy[at]wesleyan[dot]edu if you’re planning to do it.
Date: Sunday, Feb 15
Time: 8 PM
Place: Exley Lobby

Come join the Hispanic Literatures & Cultures Majors Committee this Sunday for an evening of mingling, Spanish love poetry, and chocolate – we are hosting “una velada,” a literary or musical evening celebration!
There will be a selection of our favorite poems you can read from but if you have a favorite poem you would like to share, bring it along! And if you simply want to listen and chat, that’s fine, too! This event is open to anyone (though it’s helpful if you speak Spanish) so please bring your friends!

From barista extraordinaire Mara Woods-Robinson ’16:
You’ve been asking. You’ve been begging. You’ve been tearing your hair out, overwhelmed with anxiety because you can’t get a decent morning coffee fix from your favorite neighborhood late-night student-run non-profit high-quality café. But now your prayers have finally been answered.
ESPWESSO WILL BE OPEN DURING THE DAY.
Join us for our grand opening this Sunday, Feb. 15, when we’ll be premiering our new daytime weekend hours: Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Yes, that covers that awkward morning-after I-just-need-to-get-through-this-hangover-and-start-my-homework time gap before Pi opens. Yes, we will still have FREE drip coffee available for you if you bring your own mug. Yes, we will also have our standard menu of lattes, cappuccinos, teas, and other steamed-milk-and-espresso goodies. Yes, we accept points. And yes, we’re excited too.
Starting Date: Sunday, February 15
Time: 10 AM – 2 PM
Place: Espwesso (Allbritton basement)
1959. USA. Dir: Michael Gordon. With Doris Day, Rock Hudson. 98 min.
Jan: a successful, self-reliant interior decorator. Brad: a Broadway composer and full-time womanizer. With only one telephone line between the two of them, a heated feud unfolds – followed, naturally, by romantic shenanigans. Catchy music, vibrant colors, and a playful approach to widescreen mark this sexy, quintessential rom-com, the first of three Day-Hudson pairings.
