Film Series: Marshland (La Isla Mínima)

2014. Spain. Dir: Alberto Rodríguez. With Raúl Arévalo, Javier Gutiérrez. 105 min.

A mismatched pair of cops investigate a series of disappearances and murders in the marshy hinterlands. If that sounds a little bit like (the good season of) True Detective, you’re not far off. Tense and twisty with a strong, noirish sense of place, Marshland cleaned up at the Goyas (the Spanish Oscars).
